Membership Program
HBCUs
CHEAF will promote and support student participation at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) offering studies in climate science.
Veterans
CHEAF will support the transition of service members from military service to college. Chiefly, CHEAF will provide grant opportunities for prospective veterans who plan to study/research the impacts climate change has on terrestrial ecosystems.
Women
CHEAF will support women who plan to pursue an education in climate science (see Veterans). This initiative will be restricted to women identified by the U.S. census as “Black or African American, American Indian and Alaska Native, Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Other Pacific Islander, and Hispanic or Latino.”
Economic Development
In partnership with other funders, we invest in groups focused on reducing greenhouse gases and their network of other 501(c)3 organizations. Together, we are focused on methodologies that will make the biggest impact, slowing the impacts of climate change.
Conferences / Workshops
CHEAF hosts and sponsors conferences that address terrestrial aspects surrounding the impacts of climate change. Most topics are crucial as forested ecosystems and other terrestrial communities pursue new, robust strategies to effectively manage, protect, and restore natural resources in a changing climate. Check out our calendar for upcoming events hosted or sponsored by CHEAF.
Recognition
CHEAF membership program provides advocates space to share their work and network with other leaders in the fight against climate change. Advocates receive benefits such as awards, website linkage, table recognition during conferences/meetings, partnerships on CHEAFs advisory council, and much more.
