Lake Providence Economic Development Strategic Plan – January 2022

CHEAF completed and donated Lake Providence, Louisiana’s first-ever Economic Development Strategic Plan (EDSP). Beginning in June 2021, CHEAF’s planning team collected data on the economic condition of East Carroll Parish and other communities located in the Lower Mississippi Valley (LMV) “Delta.†The research was conducted to determine the “Competitiveness, Opportunities, and Strategies†as a roadmap for the town’s/parish’s economic development hopes. This plan will serve as a living document and must be viewed as a call to action for local elected officials and the citizenry. Mayor Jerry Bell embraces the idea that the time has come for Lake Providence and the surrounding Delta communities to reclaim their status as major economic opportunity zones. The EDSP contribution is valued at $169,000.
